What are different Cocktails to make at home during Summer?
Every summer party menu should offer at least one frozen cocktail. Many people enjoy frozen drinks because they are fruity and flirty and grant a tasty way to cool off from the heat. One of the more popular frozen cocktails is the Daiquiri. Daiquiris, or Smoothies, can be made with many different fruits, with some of the favorites being strawberries, bananas, mango and pineapple. A traditional Strawberry Daiquiri weighs in at around 250 calories. By making some simple substitutions, your guests can enjoy the same great taste but at only 120 calories per serving. Instead of using real strawberries, which are high in sugar, here is a very low-calorie way to enjoy this tasty, frozen refreshment. All you need to make this simple cocktail is vodka, ice and 2 packets of Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade flavor (individual sized packets).
To make the Frozen Raspberry-Lemonade Cocktail, first fill a blender with ice of the way full. Pour in vodka until it fills 1/3 of the blender. Then add the 2 packets of Crystal light. Just blend until smooth, pour into a fun glass, garnish with a fresh strawberry and then enjoy! Of course, this drink can also be made without the alcohol for those guests who choose not to imbibe, and also makes a great alternative to soda for the under-21 party-goers.
Another easy-on-the-calories cocktail is the Watermelon Fizz. To indulge in this summery treat, first muddle 3 ounces of fresh watermelon with 5 cilantro pieces into a cocktail shaker. Next, add ice, a tenth of an ounce of Simple Syrup, and one ounce of Tequila. Also throw in a tenth of an ounce of soda water and a squeeze of lime. Shake all these ingredients vigorously and then pour into a glass over crushed ice, and garnish with a bamboo spike. One delicious glass comes in at only 100 calories.
And a third choice is the Skinny Bikini a sweet spirit of only 138 calories. To prepare this enticing cocktail, fill a shaker with ice, one ounce of X-Rated Fusion Liqueur, one and a half ounces of SKYY Infusions Coconut, one ounce of diet lemon-lime soda, and three ounces of light cranberry juice. After shaking vigorously, strain into an ice-cube filled glass, and if so desired, garnish with some shredded coconut. The Skinny Bikini is true to its name you can enjoy it and still wear that skimpy new bathing suit!
This hat-trick of easy-to-make, easy-on-the-waist signature cocktails will be the highlight of any summer party. By presenting these light and delectable drinks on your summer spirits menu, you will be sure to have impressed, happy, and complimentary guests. Cheers!
